The Bailey's Story

SANDRA AND NIGEL BAILEY

A COUPLE say they have spoken to more people in their first few months of moving into a home at Mulberry Home Yorkshire’s development at Leeming Gate than in the previous 28 years living at their former property.

Sandra and Nigel Bailey were among the first to buy a home when sales at Leeming Gate began in 2015. They moved into their three-bedroom ‘Cowesby’ house type in February this year and say they couldn’t be happier.

They are particularly pleased by how quickly a sense of community has been established.

They explained: “We lived in Harrogate for 28 years and can honestly say we have spoken to more people since we moved here than in all our time at our previous home.

“Whether it’s our neighbours, people living in other parts of the scheme, staff working for the contractor Lindum or Mulberry Homes Yorkshire, everyone has been so friendly.

“There’s a good mix of younger and older people and it has already created such a nice community feeling.”

Sandra and Nigel admit they didn’t even know exactly where Leeming Bar was when they began house-hunting, having decided to move out of Harrogate.

They were one of the first people to visit the development and this meant they effectively had their choice of home.

The property they choose has a large back garden and the front of the house looks onto open space.

They said: “From our bedroom window we can see out for miles and even though we looked at other properties being built by other developers, none came close to this.

“The location is also great. We are just minutes from the A1, we can walk to Bedale and there’s lots of amazing countryside on our doorstep.”
