Lyndsey, Chris and Millie's Story

Lyndsey and Chris Armstrong are looking forward to spending their first Christmas in their new home, along with their little bundle of joy, baby Millie.

The trio recently moved into a four-bedroom Ravensworth home at The Oaks in Sowerby, near Thirsk.

The couple had been renting a two-bedroom home in Thirsk town centre, but were keen to buy their first home together, particularly as they knew Millie was on her way.

They looked at several new-build schemes, but after viewing the Ravensworth show home at The Oaks they knew this was the development and the home for them.

They reserved a Ravensworth and after selecting their plot, they waited patiently until it was built, moving into their dream home in October 2016. Millie had been born just a month before so it is an exciting time for the childhood sweethearts who work as primary school teachers in the same school.

Lyndsey and Chris benefited from the Help to Buy scheme, which meant they could buy one of our homes with just a 5% deposit. As 20% of the purchase price is made available through an equity loan funded by the Government, they could got a good mortgage deal which means they are now only paying slightly more than they were when renting a two-bedroom house.

Lyndsey says: “We looked at other developments in North Yorkshire but none compared to The Oaks.

“We loved the size and open-plan nature of the Ravensworth show home so to be able to buy one of these and choose our plot was fantastic.

“We have great views out of the front of the house and at the back we have a big garden which is not overlooked.

“The specification in this home is much better than the other developments and we have also been very impressed with the service we received. We can’t speak highly enough about Mel, the Sales Manager, she has always been very honest and helpful.

“We are now looking forward to spending our first Christmas together as a family in our new home.”
